FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Webs You Weave?

Webs You Weave is your one-stop-shop for everything relating to web, graphic and mobile design. Come to us with your ideas and we will turn them into reality!

I just placed my order. What happens now?

A Webs You Weave project manager will contact you either by phone or email to discuss your order and make sure we have everything we need to begin work on your project.  Any necessary files you have for us such as pictures or graphics can be sent to your project manager via email or through the file upload button.  To access the file upload, log in to our site and go to My Account > View Open Orders, then select the file upload button for a specific order.

Once work on your project begins, you can check your order status page found in your "My Account" dropdown to view our progress on your order.  Your project manager is always available for any questions or updates you may need along the way.

How long will it take for my website, graphic or mobile design project to be complete?

You can always view your order status page for estimated completion dates.  To access your order status page, log in and select "Order Status" from your "My account" dropdown.  The timescale of a project is often dictated by the client. If you have a deadline in mind, let us know and we will endeavor to meet it for you. The most common delay in the creation and completion of a project is waiting for content (text/images) to be sent to us by the client.  To ensure your project moves as quickly as possible make sure to provide us with all necessary content as early as you can.

In what format should I supply text and images regarding my business for my new website?

It is helpful to us if you are able to provide text and photographs in electronic form - for example, the files output by a digital camera and the words in MS word or similar format. If this is not possible, we can help get your information ready for use on the website.

Will my website design be "Search Engine" friendly?

All our websites are created with search engines in mind and the website design is compliant with search engine guidelines. It is a good idea for your website to be re-evaluated every so often as over time the search engines do alter their rules and algorithms and you will want to be certain that your website is kept up to date and complies with the most modern web standards.

If you are ordering a new website or we have just finished updated your code for better search engine optimization, it could take up to 3 months for your website to move up in the ranks.

Will everyone see my website the same?

Your website visitors will see some things differently depending on their browser, screen resolution setting and their individual computer settings and toolbars. We design and format our sites with up to date code so that they are compatible with the most modern PC and MAC versions of Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Safari.  From time to time as technology advances, your website may need to be evaluated and possibly updated.

I already have a website and I need it updated, maintained and/or redesigned. Can you help me?

Yes, we are a full service Web Design Company so whatever your website needs, we are here to help you.  Webs You Weave can work on any site in any web coding language. We have expert coders in all types of web language to suit your every need.

What is the difference between domain and hosting?

If you have never had a website before, a common misconception is that you purchase your domain name and you are good to go.  You must purchase a hosting package along with a domain name in order for your website to exist on the world wide web.  Think of your domain name as the address and the hosting package is your actual house where your website lives.  There are several different types of hosting packages.  Your Webs You Weave project manager can help you choose the package that's right for you.

What is FTP?

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a method of transferring files (web pages for example) from your local PC to your web server. We will need to have your FTP address, FTP login and FTP password in order to upload files to your domain. You can get this information from your hosting provider.
